Level I. Basic Russian (one semester: autumn or spring).
Intended for those who wish to acquire the basics of Russian quickly to use it in business and everyday life.
Course dates: September - December; February - May
Course length - 320 academic hours (16 weeks: 4 academic hours, 5 days a week)
Stage1 - 160 academic hours; stage 2 -160 academic hours.
Individual lessons - 4800 US dollars per person for the complete course.
Group lessons (3-6 persons) - 1600 US dollars per person for the complete course.
Level II. Intermediate Russian (one semester: autumn or spring).
Intended for students with basic knowledge of Russian (Level I).
Course dates: September - December; February - May
Course length - 320 academic hours (16 weeks: 4 academic hours, 5 days a week)
Stage1 - 160 academic hours; stage 2 -160 academic hours.
Individual lessons - 4800 US dollars per person for the complete course.
Group lessons (3-6 persons) - 1600 US dollars per person for the complete course.
The courses of Russian cover the following:
- oral speaking skills;
- basic grammar;
- skills of social, political and everyday topics discussions;
- reading newspapers and magazines;
- writing letters and cables;
- developing speaking and listening skills as well as writing and reading skills;
- consolidation of phonetic skills.
Level III. Advanced Russian (preparatory course), two semesters.
Course Dates: September-May
Course length - two semesters (32 weeks).
I semester (autumn) - 320 academic hours (20 academic hours a week);
II semester (spring):
Russian - 320 academic hours (20 academic hours a week);
Elective courses adapted to the needs of trainees.
Complete course of Russian (2 semesters):
- individual lessons - 9600 US dollars;
- group lessons (3-6 persons) - 3200 US dollars per person.
Elective course (2 semesters):
- individual lessons - 20 US dollars an academic hour;
- group lessons (3-6 persons) - 8 US dollars an academic hour per person.
During the course trainees:
- improve the skills of speaking, listening, writing and reading;
- deepen the knowledge of everyday, political and social life of Russia;
- review grammar;
- learn new social and political vocabulary; read newspapers, magazines and books on the chosen subject (politics, economics, law, business, management);
- compile oral and written reports;
- participate in discussions;
- study the art of speaking and make presentations.
On completing the course the trainees receive a certificate.
At the request of a trainee the Diplomatic academy provides lessons of Russian adapted to individual requirements (15 US dollars an academic hour (45 minutes). Trainees may attend individual lecture courses in Russian and English on the subject of their choice. A lecture (2 academic hours) is 40 US dollars in Russian and 80 US dollars in English.
