Vice-Rector for Research and Scientific Work of the Diplomatic Academy of the MFA of Russia O.Karpovich took part in the international scientific and practical conference "For the sustainable development of civilization: cooperation, science, education and technology" and presented a report on "Modern world in turbulence: prospects for a return to sustainability".

In his speech O.Karpovich noted that the concept of sustainable development is inextricably linked with the negative results of the industrial revolution. The liberal economy is detrimental to the environment, and the accepted model of economic development does not lead to social equality. The modern world, in the conditions of the formation of new centers of power, is striving for a more equitable development based on a balance of interests, pragmatism and respect for all participants in international communication.

The event was organized by the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia.
