Its main functions are:
Organization of additional training programs for professional development training (advanced training) and professional retraining of personnel of federal and regional authorities, state and non-state associations, business communities of Russia, as well as individuals working in the field of international relations, including citizens of foreign countries.
Professional retraining programs are designed for people engaged in international cooperation wishing to increase their level of competence and acquire additional knowledge on current issues of international relations or master the art of simultaneous translation
The purpose of professional development programs is a comprehensive improvement of professional training of employees of the civil service, public and non-governmental sectors of the economy, non-governmental organizations as well as individuals working in the field of international cooperation. The programs focus on specialized and applied knowledge that is most in demand in the practice of international relations.
An important area of the department's work is the short-term training of foreign diplomats of both central offices of the Foreign Ministry of foreign states and employees of the embassies of these countries in Moscow under the program "International Relations. Russian Foreign policy”. The training is conducted under the order of the Foreign Ministry of Russia in accordance with the official application of the state in question.
